The French Farmhouse wedding venue in Collinsville Texas photographed before Parker and Kathryn’s romantic wedding

There are some wedding days that are beautiful from beginning to end…and then there are wedding days that just have this little extra something. The kind where every detail feels thoughtful, every room is filled with people who genuinely adore the couple, and the entire day has this warm, happy energy that you can practically feel through the photographs.

Parker and Kathryn’s wedding at The French Farmhouse was absolutely one of those days.

Soft pastels. Romantic florals. Dusty blue, blush pink and the prettiest little touches of buttery yellow. Candles EVERYWHERE. A gorgeous light-filled ceremony space. The sweetest bridal crew. And right in the middle of all of it—two people who were just so incredibly happy to finally be getting married.

This entire wedding felt romantic without being overly formal, elegant without feeling stuffy, and colorful while still staying beautifully soft and timeless.

Basically…it was a DREAM.

A Romantic Wedding at The French Farmhouse

If you have never seen The French Farmhouse in person, this North Texas wedding venue is absolutely breathtaking.

From the white exterior and European-inspired details to the beautiful wood beams, oversized windows and dreamy natural light, there are gorgeous little pockets for photographs everywhere you turn.

And Parker and Kathryn's soft pastel wedding design looked like it was MADE for this venue.

Their color palette was one of my favorite parts of the entire day. Instead of choosing one dominant wedding color, they brought together soft pinks, dusty blues, creamy whites, delicate greenery and little pops of yellow.

It felt fresh.

It felt romantic.

And it felt so incredibly HAPPY.

The florals carried those colors throughout the entire wedding day, from the ceremony arrangements to the reception tables and Kathryn's gorgeous bouquet. Nothing felt overly matched or too perfect. Everything had this beautifully organic, garden-inspired feeling that worked so well with The French Farmhouse.

The Sweetest Wedding Morning

Kathryn spent the beginning of her wedding day surrounded by her girls, and this bridal suite was such a fun place to photograph everyone getting ready.

The beautiful vintage-style mirrors, warm wood floors and soft natural light made the entire room feel so feminine and romantic.

And then there were the girls.

Champagne glasses were up, everybody was laughing, and the energy was exactly what you want on a wedding morning.

Kathryn's bridal party wore the prettiest deep green getting-ready sets, which looked AMAZING against the light, airy bridal suite. I love when a getting-ready look has a little richness to it because it photographs so beautifully against a neutral space.

These are always some of my favorite moments of a wedding day because they are about so much more than getting hair and makeup done.

This is the part of the day when it all starts feeling REAL.

Your favorite people are all in one room. Your wedding dress is hanging nearby. Flowers are arriving. Music is playing. Somebody is pouring champagne. Everybody is checking the clock while simultaneously pretending not to check the clock.

And suddenly you realize…

YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED TODAY.

Those Tiny Wedding Details We Love So Much

Before everything really got moving, we spent time photographing Kathryn and Parker's wedding details.

And Kathryn's bridal shoes were SO pretty.

Delicate white slingbacks with beautiful beaded details, styled alongside greenery and tiny white florals—they were feminine, elegant and completely timeless.

These are the little pieces of a wedding day that might seem small in the moment, but they become such an important part of telling the complete story.

The shoes.

The rings.

The florals.

The invitations.

The jewelry.

The perfume.

All those little things you spent months choosing suddenly become part of the visual history of your wedding.

And I LOVE documenting them.

A Light-Filled French Farmhouse Ceremony

And then there was THAT CEREMONY SPACE.

Oh. My. Goodness.

The ceremony room at The French Farmhouse is absolutely spectacular.

Soaring ceilings, gorgeous exposed wood beams, huge windows and rows of crisp white chairs created the most beautiful backdrop for Parker and Kathryn's ceremony.

The entire space was flooded with natural light.

Their floral design added soft pops of pink, blue, yellow and white throughout the room, with arrangements lining the aisle and framing the altar. Against all that white and warm natural wood, the colors looked incredible.

But one of my favorite details?

The candles.

There were candles woven throughout the wedding design, and they added this soft romantic glow that made everything feel warm and intimate. I will forever be a fan of candlelight at weddings because there is just something magical about it—especially as daylight begins to fade and the reception transitions into the evening.

Their ceremony design was romantic without taking away from the beauty of the venue itself, which I think is the PERFECT balance.

And Just Like That…Parker + Kathryn Were Married

After all the planning, all the anticipation and all those little moments leading up to it, Parker and Kathryn were finally HUSBAND AND WIFE.

And these two were so stinking cute together.

One of my favorite things about photographing a wedding is watching that shift happen after the ceremony.

The nerves disappear.

The shoulders relax.

And suddenly it is just…

WE DID IT.

We're married.

That post-ceremony happiness is something you cannot fake, and Parker and Kathryn had it written all over their faces.

Newlywed Portraits Around The French Farmhouse

The grounds at The French Farmhouse are absolutely gorgeous for wedding portraits because there is so much variety without ever having to leave the property.

And obviously we had to photograph these two in front of that iconic white French Farmhouse exterior.

Kathryn looked absolutely beautiful in her romantic lace wedding gown, and I LOVED the way the movement in her skirt photographed as she and Parker walked together.

And Parker looked so handsome in his gray suit with that soft green tie—a perfect complement to the pastel wedding palette without feeling overly coordinated.

Give me a newly married couple walking hand-in-hand, a gorgeous wedding venue behind them, a little movement in the dress and two giant JUST-MARRIED smiles and I AM HAPPY.

These are the photographs I want our couples to look back on years from now and immediately remember how that exact moment felt.

Not just what it looked like.

How it FELT.

Pastel Wedding Florals Done So Beautifully

Can we talk about these FLOWERS?

Because this color palette deserves its own moment.

Blush pink roses, soft blue florals, creamy whites, touches of yellow and fresh greenery came together in the prettiest way.

There was color—but it was soft.

There was texture—but it wasn't overwhelming.

There was romance everywhere—but it still felt natural.

The flowers carried throughout the ceremony and reception so beautifully, making the entire wedding feel cohesive without every arrangement looking exactly the same.

That is one of my favorite ways to use color in a wedding.

You don't have to choose between colorful and timeless.

You can absolutely have BOTH.

And Parker and Kathryn's wedding is the perfect example.

A Candlelit Reception Filled With Romantic Details

The reception continued that same soft, garden-inspired feeling, but the addition of candlelight made everything feel even more romantic.

Tall glass hurricane candles mixed with delicate bud vases filled with pastel flowers ran along the tables, creating this effortless layered look.

And I LOVED the texture of the linens.

Between the romantic florals, glowing candles, soft fabric and warm wood tables, there was so much visual interest without the tables ever feeling crowded or overdone.

It felt elevated.

Warm.

Inviting.

And incredibly romantic.

This is exactly why I always encourage couples to think about texture and lighting when planning their reception decor. Flowers are beautiful, but when you mix florals with candles, interesting linens, glass and warm ambient light?

MAGIC.

Especially in photographs.

A Wedding Day That Felt Like THEM

As beautiful as every detail was, my favorite part of Parker and Kathryn's wedding wasn't the flowers.

It wasn't the venue.

It wasn't even the candles—and y'all know I LOVE me some candlelight.

It was the way the entire day felt.

Warm.

Joyful.

Relaxed.

Full of personality.

And completely centered around these two beginning their marriage surrounded by the people they love most.

That will ALWAYS be the heart of wedding photography for me.

Yes, I want the beautiful detail photographs.

Yes, I want the gorgeous portraits.

Yes, I am absolutely going to obsess over the light, your timeline and where we need to be for those dreamy newlywed photos.

But more than anything, I want you to actually EXPERIENCE your wedding day.

I want you laughing with your bridesmaids.

Holding onto your parents a little longer.

Walking hand-in-hand with your brand-new husband.

Sneaking away for a few quiet minutes together.

Dancing.

Celebrating.

And soaking in the fact that all of your favorite people are gathered in one place because they LOVE YOU.

Because those are the photographs that become priceless.
